The road of life

At first, I saw ADONAI as being somebody like either a judge or an observer. He was keeping track of the things that I did wrong to determine whether I merited either Heaven or Hell when I died. He was out there sort of like a President. I recognized His picture when I saw it but I really didn't know Him.

Later on in life, I met Y'SHUA the Messiah. When this happened, my idea of life changed to being like on a bike ride. The ride wasn't on a regular bike but on a tandem, a two-seater, and I noticed that Y'SHUA was in back helping me pedal. I don't know just when He suggested we change places, but life has not been the same since.

When I had control, I knew the way. The ride was rather boring, but predictable...it was the shortest distance between two points.

But when Y'SHUA took the lead, He knew delightful long cuts, up mountains and through rocky places at breakneck speeds. It was all that I could do to hang on! Even though it looked dangerous, He was in control and told me just to hang on and "PEDAL!"

I worried at times and was anxious too. I would ask Him, "Where are you taking me?" He would just smile and tell me to trust and listen to Him. I forgot my boring life and entered into an adventure and abundant life with Y'SHUA! And when I'd say, "I'm scared," He would lean back and touch my hand and say, "Keep Pedaling, Trust Me!"

He took me to visit people with gifts that I needed, gifts of healing, acceptance, and joy. They gave me these gifts to take on my journey, my L-RD's and mine that is, and then we were off again. He would tell me to "Give the gifts away; they're extra baggage, too much weight." So I gave them to people we met along the way. I found out that in giving I received and yet our burden was light.

I didn't trust Y'SHUA at first, especially with control of my life. I thought He might wreck it. I found out that He knows everything including bicycle secrets. He knows how to make the road bend on sharp corners, how to ride safely in traffic, how to stop quickly, and He even knows how to make the mountain climbs not seem so tough.

I still have a lot to learn, but I'm trying to be quiet and pedal when the Lord tells me. I'm also beginning to trust ADONAI more and find that I can enjoy the view with my delightful constant companion, Y'SHUA HaMaschiach. And when I'm sure I just can't do it anymore, He would just smile and say......" PEDAL !"
