Epitaph
I wonder which words will be deigned
suitable as my epitaph?
I hope I`ll be thought of kindly
That they recall the way I laughed
Let them look through
ageing photographs for
the youth I used to be
remembering the wild
young girl,
that in the early days
was me.
I`d love to be brought to mind
by the hue of a stunning rose
Pink .. my trademark colour
the shade I always chose.
If I wrote the words myself
to be engraved forever
in stone
I think I`d say `She always
did her very best, usually
on her own..
Everyone counted on her
ability to be strong,
even when she was
correct ..
she was invariably wrong`
