A wall

A wall

The air stiffens
It becomes palpable, impermeable
A wall
Surrounding
Enclosing
Entrapping
Barring any escape
And you become aware
That you cannot breathe
There is nothing to take into your lungs
There is nothing to sustain you
All of your body and your world feels it
The collapse
The falling in
And loss of stability
Then down you fall
Inward, outward
Into nothing.
